Meet Kaster and Lynch

Bruce R. Kaster

Since graduation from the University of Florida College of Law in 1975, Mr. Kaster has practiced in Ocala, Florida as a civil trial lawyer.  With over 40 years litigation experience, his practice focuses on cases involving defective products in state and federal courts across the country.  He has been involved in tire-related accident cases in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, Illinois, Ohio, Nebraska, South Dakota, Utah, Arizona, Oregon and California.

Mr. Kaster has been involved in tire litigation for over 20 years.  This involvement has included tire cases with all major domestic and many foreign manufacturers, including Firestone, Bridgestone, Michelin, Uniroyal, Goodyear, Kelly-Springfield, General Tire, Cooper Tire, Denman Tire, Pirelli-Armstrong, and Kumho.  Mr. Kaster has widely lectured on tire failures and is nationally recognized as an authority on tire related accidents.  He has been featured in The Wall Street Journal where he was characterized as the nation’s foremost authority on tires and their defects.  He has also been quoted in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The St. Petersburg Times, The Associated Press, as well as many other newspapers.  He has also participated in numerous radio interviews and has appeared on CNN, Dateline, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, and Canadian Broadcasting.

Prior to Mr. Kaster’s campaign for safe tires, he handled many successful auto accidents, machine guarding and slip and fall accident cases.  During this time period Mr. Kaster also branched off into defective products.  This area included motor vehicles, heavy equipment, factory machinery, high power lines and power lawn mowers.

Mr. Kaster is past chair of the national Attorneys’ Information Exchange Group, Tire Section, and is a member of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers where he served two terms on the Board of Directors.  He has also served as the Academy’s liaison to the Office of the Governor.  He is an active member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.

Kaster, a former paratrooper and Vietnam veteran is a tenacious litigator with the knowledge, dedication and drive needed to be a great trial lawyer.

 

Skip E. Lynch

Skip Lynch was admitted to practice in 1996 in the State of Mississippi.  Since that time, Mr. Lynch has handled numerous product liability cases.  He earned his B.A. from the University of Florida in 1992 and his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 1996.  He is a member of both the Mississippi Bar and Florida Bar.  Mr. Lynch first practiced product liability law in Jackson, Mississippi, while working on tobacco litigation in both the Attorney General cases and first and second hand smoke cases.  At that time, Lynch was the youngest lawyer assigned to the tobacco trial team.  Mr. Lynch moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1998, where he began practicing law in Pascagoula, Mississippi.  While on the Gulf Coast he also specialized in product liability cases including asbestos litigation, silicosia litigation, insurance bad faith litigation and tire litigation.  Lynch was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee and Liason Committes of the in re Silica Litigation MDL.  Mr. Lynch frequently lectured about the intricacies of successful mass tort litigation and product litigation.  Mr. Lynch was named to the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association.  Lynch practiced on the Mississippi Gulf Coast until 2005 when his home and office were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

After Katrina, Lynch returned to his home town of Ocala, Florida.  After being admitted to practice in the State of Florida in 2006, Lynch joined up with long-time product liability and tire lawyer Bruce Kaster.  Forming Kaster & Lynch, P.A., securing verdicts against many of the major vehicle manufacturers.  His experience working in complex product litigation in both Mississippi and Florida provides a superior edge in machine guarding accidents, vehicular accidents that involve cars, trucks, motorcycles or boats; as well as his experience in the asbestos litigation while in Mississippi has provided him an edge in the Mesothelioma litigation that has plaqued many.
